CAPITAL CONTROLS ®
1870E series residual chlorine analyzer
Capital Controls ® The 1870E series residual chlorine analyzer has undergone rigorous testing in terms of technology, with reliable performance and the ability to perform continuous and accurate residual chlorine analysis.
This analyzer uses an ammeter as its core component and can continuously analyze free chlorine or total chlorine, chlorine dioxide, iodine, bromine, or other oxidants added to drinking water, sewage, cooling water, and other process water.
The residual chlorine analyzer of this amperometric method is certified by the US EPA and can be used to detect residual chlorine content in drinking water. The detection range of the 1870E series residual chlorine analyzer can be selected from 0-0.1 mg/l to 0-20 mg/l. The analyzer is equipped with a continuous direct drive electrode cleaning device, which can eliminate signal drift errors and does not require constant calibration. Built in high and low standard setting points.
This series of residual chlorine analyzers can use gravity to add chemical reagents, and can be used for 7 days with one addition; You can also install a peristaltic pump to add chemical agents, which can be continuously used for up to 60 days at a time. The ultra large gold and copper electrodes generate the strongest signal. The error caused by temperature changes in the test sample is offset by the measuring element to maintain consistent residual chlorine measurement values.
The 1870E series residual chlorine analyzer is made of corrosion-resistant materials and has pre installed pipelines and wires. It only needs to be connected to various testing points on site. All components and controls can be operated in front of the instrument, making it easy to observe the solution level, sample water flow, electrode cleaning device status, and adjust the set points.

Industrial wastewater: wastewater effluent control
• Power industry: Monitor whether the effluent of sewage meets NPDES and M O. E. Emission standards
• Monitoring of drinking water disinfection: internal production monitoring of water plants and monitoring of clean water (factory water)
• Monitoring of drinking water disinfection: internal production monitoring of water plants and monitoring of clean water (factory water)
• Pharmaceutical: zero inspection after carbon filtration; The confirmation steps are simple
Swimming pool disinfection: accurate control of residual chlorine levels
• Cooling water monitoring: control of mucous membranes and algae in pipelines, heat exchangers, and the entire water tower
Design Features
Gravity dosing reagent: The stock of the reagent is 7 days. By dosing the reagent, the pH of the sample water is controlled between 4.5 and 4.8 to improve the stability and strength of the output signal.
Peristaltic pump dosing reagent: The required storage dose is 60 days.
• High and low alarm setting points: By setting the values of high and low residual chlorine concentration, it is used to monitor and control the residual chlorine and other free oxidants in water. The high and low values can be easily set through the front panel. The LED light displays the alarm situation, and the optional locking contact provides high and low frequency band control for reagent dosing.
• Ultra large electrodes: Ultra large gold and copper electrodes provide the strongest signal strength.
• Automatic cleaning: Directly drive the continuous cleaning system to keep the electrodes in a continuous cleaning state for a long time.
• Easy to use: All components and controls can be operated in front of the instrument, including sample water flow, electrode cleaning device status, and adjusting set points.
Accuracy: With an accuracy of 1%, it is an ideal choice for monitoring clean water, sewage, and process water
Installation: Connect to the installation panel together with various required components, making installation simple and convenient. The analyzer can also be installed in floor cabinets or wall cabinets.
NEMA 4X: Electronic equipment protection level NEMA 4X
Working principle
The sample liquid is fed into the constant pressure head weir at a rate of about 500 milliliters per minute, and excess liquid overflows and is discharged.
Then, the liquid sample flows through the annular space between the two fixed electrodes in the detection cell. When liquid flows through, a weak direct current is generated, and the magnitude of the current is proportional to the amount of residual chlorine in the sample water. The amount of residual chlorine is displayed on the digital indicator in milligrams per liter.
The motor drives the rotating hammer, which impacts the PVC ball to make continuous movement and comes into contact with the two electrodes to keep their surfaces clean. This method of continuous cleaning of the electrode surface can eliminate signal drift errors without the need for periodic calibration, thus providing accurate residual chlorine measurement values. The temperature change of the sample water is compensated by a thermistor.
Liquid reagents are stored in separate reagent bottles and added through a rotary valve from a constant pressure head reservoir. With this configuration, the amount of liquid added is very precise every time the valve rotates. The reagent in the reagent bottle can be used for 7 days after one addition. In water treatment, another chemical reagent dosing system can be used by using carbon dioxide as a pH buffer.
